Andy has a amazing story of living with a disability, growing up in care for many years while going through the education system he was badly bullied at home and at school, He came out of school with no qualifications. He started getting into crime and spent a short time in the infamous Armley jail.

After coming out and making some big changes in his life – he started to see things differently.

He changed his outlook, his friends and was asked to start a youth football team, which led to his love of sport. Andy has worked in youth work for over 15 years now, and speaks about his life and goes into schools doing wheelchair sports.

He has won awards for his volunteer work and his coaching. Even when he lost everything when his house was burnt down by local criminals he was still able to overcome all that and keep on going.

One of his biggest achievements is playing Wheelchair Rugby league for his country and also he has been the Irish wheelchair rugby league head coach too.

Andy has a amazing story of determination and resilience in the toughest of circumstances.
